Paragraph on Global Warming

Our Earth is now under the grip of rising temperatures. World Meteorological Organization has declared the year 2010 as the ‘World’s Warmest Year.’

If global warming is not controlled the future of mankind and human civilization is dreadful. Life is possible on Earth because of the balance maintained between the incoming and outgoing radiation of the Sun.

Paragraph on Global Warming (100 Words)

The rise in the global mean temperature of the Earth is known as global warming. In the 20th century, the global mean temperature has increased by approximately 0.6°C. Rising global temperature leads to changes in the rainfall patterns in the world. While some areas may experience recurrent droughts, some regions may experience regular flooding. The direct effect of global warming is an increase in heart disease and heart stroke. It is thus important to save our environment and reduce the emission of carbon into the atmosphere. We can do this by using cleaner sources of energy like solar and wind energy, Saving electricity, and Planting trees.

Paragraph on Global Warming (150 Words)

Global warming is the result of the greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, water vapour, and various Chloro-Fluro-carbon gas are called greenhouse gas. If the quantity of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere increases abnormally the radiated rays from the surface of the earth cannot go out. It returns to earth and the temperature of the earth’s surface increases gradually.

Scientists, researchers, and environmentalists are trying their best to discover how global warming can be controlled. Mousam Bhavan of Delhi declared the year 2009 as the warmest year. One of the major causes of global warming is the excessive accumulation of greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide traps the heat of the Sun and does not allow part of the heat to go back into space.

This has led to an increase in the temperature of the Earth, resulting in global warming. This has resulted in the melting of glaciers and the consequent rise in the sea level. Warming of the atmosphere increases the rate of evaporation and the moisture-carrying capacity of winds. It is estimated that global warming may influence the pattern of cultivation. While some crops may witness increased production, other crops may see a decline in their productivity. A phenomenal change in the temperature and level of rainfall may cause the outbreak of many diseases like malaria. It is thus important to save our environment and reduce the emission of carbon into the atmosphere.

Paragraph on Global Warming (250 Words)

An increase in the average temperature on the surface of the earth is called by scientists as global warming. Global warming is the result of the greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, water vapour, and various chloro-Fluro-carbon gas are called greenhouse gas. These gases are like green glass in the atmosphere. Sunrays fall on the earth’s surface penetrating this atmosphere. Due to the low temperature of the earth’s surface, the radiated rays from the earth’s surface are converted to infrared rays, and a part of this ray is absorbed by greenhouse gases and a part of this ray goes out.

As a result, the atmosphere and the surface of the earth absorb this extra heat and keep the environment warm. But if the quantity of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere increases abnormally the radiated rays from the surface of the earth cannot go out. It returns to earth and the temperature of the earth’s surface increases gradually.

If the water level of the sea rises twenty inches, shore areas of India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and the Maldives will go underwater. Due to the change in weather frequency of floods, droughts, and cyclones will increase. As a result of an increase in temperature, pests will increase and agricultural products will decrease. Forest will be destroyed. The ecosystem will be in danger. The direct effect of global warming is an increase in heart disease and heart stroke. Scientists, researchers, and environmentalists are trying their best to discover how global warming can be controlled.
