People eat junk foods and unhealthy food items solely for taste, neglecting their body’s nourishment due to time constraints. A healthy and balanced diet reduces stress and promotes a suffering-free life. Thus, it is crucial for individuals to recognize the importance of a healthy body.

A balanced diet maintains or improves overall health. It comprises the necessary ingredients in appropriate quantities. This diet includes essential nutrition like liquids, proteins, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and calories. Consuming fresh fruits, salad, green leafy vegetables, milk, eggs, yogurt, etc., at the right time is vital for maintaining a healthy body.

We need minerals like iron, calcium, sodium, and potassium. They are present in green vegetables and most fruits. Small amounts of iodine and copper are also required.

Fish oil, butter, carrot, papaya, etc., contain Vitamin A. Green leafy vegetables, wheat grain, etc., have Vitamin B. Green chili, green vegetables, amla, lemon, and citric fruits are sources of Vitamin C. Sun rays, fish oil, and butter provide Vitamin D. Vitamins E and K are also necessary for our health. Milk is a well-balanced diet on its own.

Animal protein is found in meats, poultry, fish, and egg whites. Milk (casein), cheese, curd, pulses, soybean, and dry fruits also contain protein. Butter, pork, coconut, edible oils, cod liver oil, and egg yolks are sources of fat.

We should consume fresh, well-washed, and well-cooked food that is free from dust and flies. Fried foods, excessive fat, spices, and chili should be avoided. Eating food from roadside stalls should be avoided. The last meal should be taken two or three hours before bedtime. There should be a sufficient time gap between meals for proper digestion in the stomach.

Daily physical activities, proper rest and sleep, neatness, a healthy environment, fresh air, water, and personal hygiene are essential for a healthy body.

Drinking 7-8 glasses of water is crucial. It balances blood pressure and quickly supplies vital nutrients to the body.

Being fit and healthy boosts resistance to infections and diseases. Health is more important than wealth. Spending money on junk food or entertainment sources like films offers no benefits except self-satisfaction.

Physical and mental health contributes to social and financial well-being. A healthy person is active, lively, and energetic, working with full efficiency. A wealthy but unhealthy person easily tires and eventually loses the true wealth of life, which is health.
