The fight escalates into a big brawl and is eventually stopped by the town guards. The Prince threatens to kill anyone who disturbs the peace again.
After this, Romeo enters and tells his friend Benvolio that he wants no part in violence. He also confesses that he’s lovesick because the woman he loves, Rosaline, doesn’t want anything to do with him.
