Kazi Nazrul Islam was born on 24 May 1899 in Churulia, Burdwan, and was a renowned poet known for his revolutionary thoughts. Despite facing financial struggles after his father’s death, he completed his education up to class X at Searsole High School. To make ends meet, he worked as a boy servant in a baker’s shop and later as a railway guard’s cook before joining the army as a Habildar during the First World War.

Kazi Nazrul Islam’s literary works including essays, songs, and poems such as “Agnibina’, ‘Bidrohi’, Bisher Banshi’, etc. are a testament to his revolutionary and nationalistic spirit that emphasized the unity of Hindus and Muslims. For his contributions, he was awarded the Jagattarini gold medal and Padmabhusan. In his later years, he suffered from brain paralysis, and he passed away on 29 August 1976 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
